My Professional Profile
Up Close & Personal
Having a career that feels like a hobby, no matter how challenging, is one of the most satisfying privileges I have earned in my life. I am grateful for all of the support and teachings of the mentors I have in my career. Without them, my attitude would be lacking much confidence.
Personal Statement
I am a detail oriented, problem solving, technical professional with focus on bringing up of prototypes. I bring versatility and attention-to-detail among many aspects of engineering and technical work such as 3D CAD design, PCB assembly, rapid prototyping, prototype fabrication and electrical circuit assembly.
Every startup technology company and engineering lab could greatly benefit from my skill set. I truly believe this because I know what it takes to make things happen no matter how hectic a day can be, improvisation is one of my specialties, and high pressure environments are where I do best.
My Roles & Responsibilities
Professional History
Senior Engineering Technician, iRobot
Now operating at a senior level, my work has evolved to teaching and training hardware interns and contractors a new and intuitive way to see the bringing up of prototypes, design, improvisation, and operational organization.
Engineering Technician (electro-mechanical), iRobot
• Rapid prototyping with 3D printed, molded, or machined parts.
• Fabrication of mechanical assemblies and redesign after implementation.
• Design and prototype IR/Optical odometry assemblies.
• Design, re-manufacture, and test optical calibration fixtures
• Design and build test fixture for gyro calibration.
• 3D CAD design using SolidWorks 2015 and Creo 3.0.
• Create 2D drawings with detailed instructions to aid assembly.
• Mechanical modification to consumer products for production models and revisions.
(Expert with many power tools including rotary tools, drills, and saws)
• Mid-level industrial design input for multiple concepts
• Circuit board assembly for 0201 SMT- through hole. (Expert level chip rework and soldering)
• Creating detailed assembly instructions, and design documentation.
• Designing test fixtures/ jigs for precision circuit board ICT testing.
• Reading, interpreting, and implementing electrical/mechanical engineering drawings.
• Soldering and electrical/mechanical assembly for home, medical, and military robots.
(Including cable making and wire harnessing).
• Entry level machine shop lathe and milling machine work.
• Testing of electrical circuits and mechanical aspects of prototypes and production models.
• Lab and general work space organization and maintenance.
• Testing assemblies and recording results/data into test procedure spreadsheets.
Prototype Consulting
Products are to easy to produce. Rapid prototyping is new. I've been here since 2011. Versatility is key.
